Helping Hands

Each year, over 300,000 low-income residents of Essex-County are eligible to receive ENLS's services.

Thousands go unserved because of ENLS's limited resources. Volunteer involvement is key to ENLS' access to justice mission.

Essex-Newark Legal Services (ENLS) has several vacant attorney positions. Since its founding in 1966, the program’s mission has been to obtain a measure of justice for the poor by providing free effective legal assistance on the most critical civil law issues. ENLS is looking to hire attorneys and law graduates for Family Law and Housing Eviction Defense units. We offer a competitive public interest law salary with full benefits. Serve the community. Invaluable Experience

“ENLS runs on the hard work and dedication of its employees… I say thank you...for providing me with this invaluable experience that I will carry with me throughout my time as a law student and my journey into attorney-hood. Thank you for showing me what it takes to be a good attorney ... “   CRT 8/2021
